What is the Whale Watching Alaska website about?
Whale Watching Alaska is a personal home page website that began out of our then 16 year old sons concern about the
diminishing beluga whale population in Cook Inlet on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. After researching the existing information
available on the web and in the local libraries, there were some crucial conflicts noted between industry, native whalers,
university researchers, and government agencies in just what the prevailing causes for the decline were.
In short, no recognizable conclusion could be derived from the information gathered without further study. Since we
live here on Cook Inlet and have a deep fondness for all the local marine life, there was only one obvious direction
from this point and thus the Whale-Watching-Alaska.com website is born.
From this point on, much of what this site is trying to accomplish is to inform the public of upcoming events and
most importantly impending activities that adversely effect the Beluga whale population in Cook Inlet.
How this site is funded.
Whale Watching Alaska makes money when visitors visit our advertisement links. This is a revenue model similar to
that of the major search engines like Google and Yahoo as well as many online news services. Advertisers enjoy the targeted
traffic generated from the clicks because Whale Watching Alaska traffic results from visitors looking for information
on visiting the coastal regions of the state. This brings eager visitors to their websites looking for trips and tours
that are easily converted into happy paying clients for their business.
The bottom line to our visitors, however, is that we are not trying to sell you anything which allows us to provide
objective, comprehensive information to use as you want. Then, you select the trips and tours you want to experience
and you decide the when and where of your next Whale of an adventure.
So check out the new Whale Watching Alaska website for yourself and then fill out the feedback form and let us know
what you like or don't like. You can review your recent trips, tell about whale sightings, and inform us about upcoming
events and more. We promise we'll not only listen to what you have to say but we will write you back after reviewing
your suggestions or related information.
