Whales in Glacier Bay frequently move in and out of Glacier Bay and Icy Strait throughout the spring and summer months. Sightings of whales in these areas are common amongst cruise ship passengers. Remember: There are no roads to Glacier Bay and you can only reach the area by air or water. Most people that visit Glacier Bay arrive in the park on the large cruise ships that come to Alaska each year.
